Burnout is a state of physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion caused by prolonged and excessive stress. It often occurs when someone feels overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands, whether from work, personal responsibilities, or a combination of factors. Over time, burnout can reduce productivity, sap energy, and make a person feel hopeless, cynical, or resentful.

There are reasons for burnout but for many it's not just work! There is autistic burnout from having to mask to fit in with neurotypicals, ADHD burnout, parental/disproportionate household responsibility burnout etc.
